Session Description: The International Fire Code (IFC 2009) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA1 2009), nationally recognized code bodies, have both added in-building communications public provisions. These codes will be adopted by almost every city and state in the US. Anyone requiring, designing or inspecting public safety DAS systems should be aware of these codes. These codes are destined to become common standards for non-cellular DAS everywhere. This class will cover the codes in detail and familiarize the attendee with new back-up power and unique new alarming requirements. The code adoption process will be discussed to inform how these codes can be implemented by their local government authorities. This class is a must for anyone dealing with in-building DAS systems.
