Bird Technologies Group - 68 Years and Counting

Bird Technologies Group (BTG) was created with the merger of two RF communications industry leading brands, Bird Electronic Corporation and TX RX Systems. The merged company was formed in 1995 but traces its rich heritage to 1942 when J. Raymond “Ray” Bird teamed up with a college friend to form the Bird Engineering Company in Cleveland, Ohio. The early years saw the company operating as a “job shop” developing and producing specialized products. This early business activity provided Ray Bird with the opportunity to improve his concepts for measuring the power generated by television and radio transmitters, an interest he had developed while earning has Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from MIT and while working as the Assistant Chief Engineer at WGAR radio in Cleveland.

TX RX Systems was founded in 1976 by Dan Kaegebein and Elliot Johnson with a mission to provide quality, dependable products to the Public Safety Communications industry. That tradition continues as the TX RX Systems brand has earned an unparalleled reputation for delivering high quality, reliable systems which enhance and extend the range of mission critical communications.

Today, BTG is an industry leading provider of RF communications products, services, calibration, and training to the Public Safety, Cellular Communications, Broadcast, Semiconductor, Military, Government and Medical markets. The products and services offered by BTG have expanded to meet the challenges of today’s complex communications systems and include Spectrum and Site Analyzers, Antennas, Combining Systems, Components, Duplexers and Triplexers, Filters, Loads and Attenuators, Power Sensors and Meters, Power Monitors, Signal Boosters, Tower Top Amplifiers and accessories. The company is positioned to continue its rich heritage with the next generations of high quality, reliable, field tested products.
